 Fire Prevention is staffed by a Fire Marshal. The Fire Marshal is responsible for coordinating and conducting the Fire Prevention and Fire Investigation programs. These programs include the weed abatement program, residential inspection program, business license inspections, annual inspection of businesses for fire safety, and conducting investigations of both accidental and incendiary fires and providing public awareness education in fire safety. Fire Prevention Week in October includes school inspections and school fire drills. During that week, firehouses are open for public tours.
