Lap Swim Open! The Competition Pool will remain open through the winter. Hours are contigent on daily attendance levels.

Winter Youth and Adult Water Polo
Looking for something fun to do over winter? Join us for Winter Water Polo at the Recreation Center.
High School Age Water Polo: ages 13-18
Fee: $50.00 per month Classes Classes are held on Tuesdays, Thursdays from 5pm - 7pm
Adults: ages 18+.
Fee: $15.00 per month for Rec Center Pass Holders $25.00 per month for Non - Passholders.
Classes are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays (7pm - 8pm) and Sundays (10am - 12pm).

Learn to Swim Lessons
Cost: Parent and Me and Starfish (formerly Tadpole and Eel): $24.00 per participant (plus $5 if a non-city resident) for a 6-day session. Minnows, Dolphins, Swordfish, Barracuda, Shark, and Adult/Teen: $35.00 per participant (plus $5 if a non-city resident) for an eight (8) day session. Summer 2010 Registration begins May 1 , 2010. NEW Refund Policy!
A credit or refund will be given if the department cancels the program or for medical reasons that can be verified by a medical note from your family physician. If you wish to drop or transfer to another session, call us at least five (5) full business days before the program start date for a refund or credit. No refunds shall be issued for non – attendance, swim passes, or materials fees. All refund requests received within five (5) business days must be approved or denied by the City of West Sacramento Parks and Recreation Department. All refund checks will be processed through the Finance Department and mailed to you within 4 – 6 weeks. Parks and Recreation management can review refund requests on a case by case basis should special circumstances arise. | | Adult Swim Fitness Group
The Adult Swim Fitness group is offered for individuals 18+. In this group, you will work with a swim coach that will provide workouts through the week, provide instruction and stroke technique. All levels are welcome. The cost of this group is $40.00 per month. Workouts are held: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 6:00 to 7:00 am, Monday and Wednesday 6:00pm to 7:00pm and Saturdays 8:30am to 9:30am. You may attend any or all of the workouts. Recreation Swim Closed for 2009! The Family Leisure Pool and Slides at the West Sacramento Recreation Center are closed for the summer. Leisure pool and slides will re-open Memorial Day weekend 2010. Check out the calendar for specific times here. Entrance Fee: valid Recreation Center pass for all members of your family including children. Day Passes are $3.50 for students and $5.00 for adults. Children 7 and under MUST be accompanied by an adult and all youth 17 and under must have a signed waiver from a parent or guardian. Ice Chests/Coolers are not allowed in the facility and ALL lifejackets must be US Coast Guard approved. See you next summer!
Lifeguard Training Class
Interested in becoming a lifeguard? West Sacramento Parks & Recreation is offering a Lifeguard Training Class. Class includes following certifications: Lifeguard Training, CPR/AED, First Aid, and Title 22. Partipants must attend all classes to pass. Prerequisite: Must be 15 years old prior to first class. Must be able to swim 300 yards and perform front crawl, back crawl, and breaststoke.
When: Monday - Friday March 29, April 2, 2010 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Location: West Sacramento Recreation Center
Fee: $135.00 (add $5.00 for non residents). Fee includes books and pocket masks.

Junior Lifeguard Class
Learn to become a guard! Ages 12-14. $65.00 per session. When completed successfully, Junior Guards are required to volunteer 20 hours of service. Check back this winter for 2010 registration information.
In addition to creating water-safe swimmers, our aquatics program provides an opportunity to be active, develop muscle strength, and improve your overall wellness!
