            Bring in proof of residency (i.e. a utility bill, phone bill, etc.) for the City of West Sacramento.

  • Do I need to be a resident of West Sacramento to participate at the Recreation Center
            No, anyone can participate as long as they have a pass. We offer Non-resident rates.

  • How can I get the student/senior (62+) rate? 
            Bring in proof of residency (i.e. a utility bill, phone bill, etc.) for the City of West Sacramento and a current student ID (student) or Drivers License (senior).
  • How do I sign up for Silver Sneakers/Silver and Fit?

    Once you received confirmation, please fill out an Enrollment Form and Liability Waiver (Attached) and turn it in to the front desk. We will contact you within the next 3 business days to let you know the status of your enrollment.

       
  • Do I have to purchase the monthly Pass EXACTLY on the FIRST of the month?

    No, you can start your pass at any time. It will end a month from the day you purchase the pass.


       

       
  • If I bought a Day Pass and decided to purchase a monthly pass, can I apply it towards my monthly pass?
        

       

    Absolutely! As long as the monthly pass is bought the same day as the Day Pass, along with the receipt.

  • Do I have to be present for my child (who is under 18) to renew a pass?
        They can renew, just as long as the Liability Waiver is updated in the system. A signature is required from the Card Holder, if paying with a Visa or Master Card. Otherwise, Cash or Check would be another option of payment.
    • Do you offer Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT)?
    • Yes we do and you can save 10%! Please fill out the EFT Application (Attached) and bring it to the front desk.

    • Why is it NA under the Student/Senior rates for Non-Residents? 
              
      The Student/Senior rates are only applicable for West Sacramento Residents.  Simply look for the Individual pass price under the non-resident rate.

      • Do I save any money for buying a longer pass? 
                
        Yes, both residents and non-residents can save 5% for 3 month pass; 10% for 6 month pass and 15% for a 12 month pass.
      • I have an active individual pass. Can I upgrade my pass to a couple or family?

        YES! We will determine what type of pass you purchased and calculate how many days you have left. There will be a prorated fee for the upgrade and the pass will have the same start date as your original pass.

        My nephew or niece will be living with me. Can I add them to my account?

        You will need to complete an “Add a Family Member” Form and turn it in to the Front Desk Staff. You will also need to provide proof of guardianship.          Once turned in, you will be contacted by the Recreation Center manager.

      • How do I Terminate my Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT)?

        The main account holder needs to fill out a Termination Form (Attached) and turn it in to the front desk.

         

         

      • Can I leave the facility if drop off my children in child care?

        No, parents are required to stay on site. However, we do offer a program called Clubhouse Rec, where parents are not required to stay on site. Check out the Rec Center Programs for more details!

         

         

      • What are the age requirements for child care?

        6 months to 12 years old.

         

         

      • How do I get in contact with a Personal Trainer?

        Please pick up a form to complete at the front desk.  Once it’s turned in, we will contact you within the next 3 business days.

         

         

      • Is personal training included in my pass fees?

        No, personal training is a separate fee.  See the Personal Training page for more info.

         

         

      • What is Introduction to Fitness?

        It’s only $5 and it’s a GREAT way to get some extra help! This will focus on Guidance on Strength Training, Improve Equipment Knowledge AND Increase Efficiency in the Gym!                                                                           Sign up 24 hours in advance. Call the front desk for more details!

         

      • Is the Lap Pool Open Year round?

        Yes, except on Tuesdays and Thursdays. (The schedule varies, please see the Aquatics Page for a current schedule)

         

      • Do I have to purchase a day pass if I’m not swimming?

        Yes, anyone that enters the facility is required to purchase a day pass or monthly pass.

         

      • Do you offer private pool parties?

        Yes, during the summer season! Check out our rental page for more information!

         

         

      • Can my children go down the slide?

        As long as your child meets the height requirements, which is 48 Inches.  The slide pool is open for the summer season.

         

         

      • How do I sign up for a Team if I am a Free Agent?

        Please submit your contact information under Free Agent Sign up on www.teamsideline.com/westsacramento.  There is no guarantee you will be placed on a team. We will do our best to get you placed.  Please attend free agent events when we have them.  This is usually your best chance to get on a team.

         

      • How do I volunteer for your Youth Sports Programs?

                 Please complete a Volunteer Application and turn it in the Front Desk. Once turned in, you will be contacted by the Sports Supervisor.

         

        • What is a corporate pass
                  
          A corporate pass is a resident individual pass for a non-resident that works in West Sacramento.   The corporate pass is only applied to the individual pass, not a couple or family pass.

        • What do I need to purchase a corporate pass? 
                  Bring in either a work ID or your most current pay stub verifying your employment in West Sacramento.

        • What do I need to set up an account? 
                  All family members must be present when creating a new family account; each adult must complete and submit a liability waiver for themselves and any minors in their care. Each adult must provide Proof of Residency i.e. utility bill, phone bill, etc. and must provide a valid ID.

         

        • What do you consider a “Family”? 
                  
          A family is considered 2 adults & their dependent children ages 21 & under living in the same household.

        • What do I need to set up a family account? 
                  All family members must be present when creating a new family account; each adult must complete and submit a liability waiver for themselves and any minors in their care. Each adult must provide Proof of Residency i.e. utility bill, phone bill, etc. and must provide a valid ID.

         

        • What do you consider a “Couple”? 
                  
          A “couple” is any two individuals living in the same household.

         

        • What do I need to set up a couple account? 
                  All members must be present when creating a couple account; Each adult must complete and submit a liability waiver for themselves and any minors in their care. Each adult must provide Proof of Residency i.e. utility bill, phone bill, etc. and must provide a valid ID.

         

        •  Can I bring a guest if I’m a resident passholder; even if they are not West Sacramento residents? 
                  
          Yes, as long as you are a passholder your guest can purchase a daily pass at the resident rate and sign the daily waiver.

         

        •  Can I bring as many guests as I want? 
                  Yes, as long as everyone pays for a day pass and sign the daily waiver, the number of guests is unlimited.

        • Can I print and fill out the waiver ahead of time?
                  Yes and we encourage this.  Please click here to print the waiver and make sure you complete all sections.  Each individual 18 and older will need to complete their own waiver.  
        • How old do children have to be to use the following:
          • Cardio Room - Ages 13 & up
          • Group Exercise Classes - Ages 13 & up (unless specified different on the group exercise schedule)
          • Use of facility without a parent present - Ages 8 & up (must have valid account & waiver on file)

        • When I see an "Ace" card next to a group exercise class on the schedule what does that mean? 
                  
          The "Ace" card next to a class means that this class is near capacity and we hand out a certain number of cards per class.  For all evening classes cards will be handed out beginning at 5:30pm.  For morning classes, cards will be handed out one hour before the class start time.  Cards are given out on a first come, first serve basis and only one card given out per person for ages 13 and up (unless otherwise noted).  Once you receive a card in hand, please do not leave the Recreation Center facility.

        •  Do you have any “free week” passes? 
                  No, we do not offer any free week passes; we do offer daily passes.

        • How do I create an account? 
                  
          You can go to our registration site and click “Login”, then click “I would like to create an account” or you can go to the Recreation Center or Community Center to have your account created for you.

        • Can I register for your programs online? 
                  Yes and we recommend it, simply go to our website and create an account.

        • How do I get my password for my account if I forgot it? 
                  You can go to our registration site and click “Forgot Password” or simply give us a call at 916-617-4770 and we can reset it for you.

        •  Is childcare included in my pass fees? 
                 
           No, childcare is a separate fee.

        •  What are your childcare prices? 
                  Current pass holders can purchase a childcare day pass for $4 or purchase either a 10 time punch card for $36 (you get 1 free) or a 20 time punch card for $72 (you get 3 free).  Parents must stay on site while using the child care services.
        •  Do you offer multi-child childcare discounts? 
                  Yes!  We offer a multi-child discounts for the 10 and the 20 time punch card for current pass holders. 

        • Do you have any programs for children under 5 yrs old? 
                  
          We offer the Clubhouse Rec program for children 2-4 years old. Registration information can be found on our registration platform.
        • What is the Fitness Challenge? 
                  The Fitness Challenge has been developed for people of all shapes, sizes and ages. If you think you have unhealthy habits, need help motivating into an a exercise routine, or are looking for a healthy way to lose weight and keep it off, sign up for the West Sacramento Recreation Center Fitness Challenge!

        • Can I rent out one of your Community Rooms? 
                
            Absolutely!! The West Sacramento Recreation Center has rooms available for rent and party packages. All rentals need to be scheduled 30 days in advance and applications and appointments must be made with the Rental Coordinator.

        • Do you rent out your gym? 
                  Currently we do not offer any rentals for our gym.

        • Can I rent the Rock Wall? 
                  Yes!! Simply submit a rental application, you can pick up an application at the Recreation Center or download one online.

        • Do we need Recreation Center passes for rentals? 
                  All participants in all rentals are required to have some kind of Recreation Center Pass (either a day pass or otherwise).

         

        • Questions about your Rec Card?
          Can you use your account online without having a Rec Card - YES!
          To get a Rec Card, do I need to go to the Recreation Center to have my picture taken and provide proof of residency (such as a utility bill) - YES!
          Can I load a pass on a Rec Card for access to the Recreation Center - YES!
          Once I have purchased a pass, will I need a Rec Card to enter the Recreation Center - YES!
          If my children want to use the Recreation Center, will they need a Rec Card - YES!  

        • If I lost my rec card, how much is a new one? 
                  There is a $5 fee for a new rec card; although there is an app you can download for your smart phone.  This way you wouldn't need a Rec Card. The app is called “Key Ring Rewards”.

        • What types of payments does the City of West Sacramento accept? 
                  
          The city accepts Visa, Mastercard, Checks and Money Orders.

        • If I pay with a check or money order who do I make it out to? 
                  Make your checks/money orders out to “City of West Sacramento” or “COWS”.

        • What is your Federal Tax ID#? 
                  
          The City of West Sacramento Federal Tax ID#94-2362972.

        • How do I apply for a job with the city? 
                  You may only apply for an open position, the city does not accept applications without an open recruitment. You may look at open positions online at
          calopps.org.  During an open recruitment you can either pick up a paper application at city hall
          or submit an online application through the calopps website.

        • Is the pool heated? 
                  
          Yes, the pool is heated during the cold months to approximately 80 degrees.

        • Do you offer swim lessons? 
                  
          In the past 10 years, the City of West Sacramento Learn to Swim Program has served almost 15,000 participants. See the Aquatics page for details!!

        • When does Recreation Swim start?

        • What is your Refund Policy? 
                 
          REFUND POLICY - If you wish to drop or transfer to another available program, contact us five (5) full business days before the program start date for a credit or refund. A refund will be given if the department cancels the program or for medical reasons that can be verified by your doctor. No refunds shall be issued for non-attendance, Recreation Center passes, or material fees. All requests received within five (5) business days must be approved or denied by the City of West Sacramento Parks and Recreation Department. All refund checks will be processed through the Finance Department and mailed to you within 4-6 weeks. Parks & Recreation management can review refund requests on a case by case basis should special circumstances arise. RETURNED CHECK FEE POLICY - The return check fee will be a flat $30 per check returned. A hold will be placed on the account and account holders will be unable to participate in programs until the returned check payment is made.
