Our sports programs provide an opportunity to be active, develop muscle strength, and improve your overall wellness. All the programs on this page will provide the participant with at least 30-minutes of physical activity each game/event!





Just4Kicks Soccer Program

With the expectation of having fun, your child will learn to love soccer. Skills will be introduced and built upon.  Recreational games guide learning through play and all those skills worked upon will begin to make the game come together. 

Pre- K Soccer
Ages:
3 1/2 - 4 years
When: Mondays 
            April 9-June 4 from 3:30-4:00pm
            July 9-August 27 from 6:00-6:30pm

K Soccer       
Ages: 4-5 years
When: Mondays 
            April 9-June 4 from 4:00-4:35pm
            July 9-August 27 from 6:30-7:05pm

K-1 Soccer 
Ages:
 5-6 years
When: Mondays 
            April 9-June 4 from 4:35-5:20pm 
            July 9-August 27 from 7:05-7:50pm

Soccer 2 
Ages:
 7-12 years
When: Mondays 
            April 9-June 4 from 5:20-6:20pm
            July 9-August 27 from 5:15-6:00pm

Cost: $92 per session, includes 8 weeks (non-resident $100 per session)

2012 Spring Juniors Tennis Classes
Join River City Coach Dave Brooks to learn all the highlights of the game, work on technique, and match play.   Equipment is available for students if needed. 
Ages:  7-17
Session Dates:  Saturdays March 24 - May 19, 2012 (no class either April 14 or 21st due to tournament, Coach Dave will let participants know)
Times: 8:30-9:30am
Location: West Sacramento Recreation Center

Youth Sports Special Events & Camps 

NFL Pepsi Punt, Pass, & Kick
Participants will punt, pass, and kick a football as far as they can in hopes of advancing to the Regional Finals where they will compete before an Oakland Raiders home game! Open to boys and girls ages 8-15, with boys and girls competing in separate divisions. Call (916) 617-4770 for more information.

West Sacramento Sports Camps 
We offer a Spring Break Sports Camp in addition to our popular Summer Sports Camp. Participants will enjoy an array of exciting and fun athletic activities at the West Sacramento Recreation Center.  Learn how to play a soccer, basketball, tennis, volleyball, rock climbing, swim and more (swimming not offered during Spring session)!  Registration is open to boys and girls, ages 5-12.  Campers are offered two healthy snacks daily, however, each child is required to provide their own lunch and water. When: Spring Break Sports Camp: April 2-6, 2012            
            Summer Sports Camp: June 11-August 10, 2012
Cost: $95 per weekly session (additional $8 if non-resident)
Time: 8:00am-5:00pm (drop-off and pick-up will occur 30 minutes prior to, and after scheduled times)

Legends of Boxing Training Camp
Learn the "sweet science" of boxing from former world boxing champions Loretto Garza, Juan Lazcano and Tony "The Tiger" Lopez, as well as former amateur champions Henry Rodriguez, Dennis Velez and Richard Savala!  Camp attendees will learn the basics of boxing from these pros in a non-contact boxing camp.  Camp is open to all boys and girls, ages 9-16.  All participants will receive a camp t-shirt, hand wraps and souvenir water bottle.  Call (916) 617-2302 for more information.

Summer Learn to Skate Camp

Learn to skate from a top-notch skate instructor this summer! Learn new tricks, balance, ride the ramps, grind the rails and much more. Sign-up to enjoy a positive skateboarding experience. The camp is held at the skate park in West Sacramento on Evergreen and Westacre. Campers should have a desire to learn the basick skate skills including pusing, balancing, riding the ramps, and basic tricks incluiding ollies, kick flips, etc. 

When: Monday - Friday  July 9 - 13, 2012 9:00am to 12:00pm
Who & Cost : Girls & boys, ages 7-14; $60 per person (additional $8 if non-resident)
Specifics: All participants are required to bring a skateboard, helmet, and pads. Please wear comfortable clothes, athletic shoes, sunscreen and bring plenty of water.
