Batteries may not be placed in the trash as they contain hazardous materials and are banned from landfill disposal.  West Sacramento residents may recycle household batteries at several drop-off locations throughout the city. You may drop off alkaline, lithium, and rechargeable batteries at each of the following locations:

Police Department               550 Jefferson Blvd.

Public Works Corp Yard       1951 S River Rd.

Raley's                               1601 W Capitol Ave.

Recreation Center               2801 Jefferson Blvd.

Recycle City                        3348 Jefferson Blvd.

Sacramento Battery Co.       3616 W Capitol Ave.
