Port Security

Security Overview

The Port of West Sacramento is located along the Sacramento River Deep Water Channel in the City of West Sacramento. The Port's security is monitored by the United States Coast Guard (USCG) which is within the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (USDHS).  Ports throughout the United States have additional security requirements over and beyond normal Commercial/Industrial Operations. In addition to the laws and regulations mandated by the federal government, the Port also complies with all state and local security requirements.

The Port of West Sacramento has a full time Facility Security Officer (FSO) that oversees all Port security within the terminal and adjacent lands owned by the Port. 

Visitors 

All 
visitors at the Port of West Sacramento must:
  • Be escorted by a person authorized to enter the Port with a current Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC)
    • The TWIC Center has relocated to Sacramento . Click on link below for new address and to make an appointment. 
    • Apply for TWIC in Sacramento
  • Have a Valid Government Identification with Photo (passport, driver's license, etc.) 
  • Grant Security Personnel a Vehicle Search if asked
  • Have legitimate business at the Port
  • Be 18 years of age or older
