Resource Area for Teaching (RAFT)

RAFT Sacramento is a new non-profit organization that fosters hands-on teaching as the best way for teachers to teach and students to learn in pre-school through 12th grade education and community programs. RAFT will accept clean business discards to create hands-on learning activities.  There's very little they don't accept. In fact, it's often the most unusual items that spark the most creative hands-on learning ideas and activities.

So, save yourself disposal costs and pick up the phone today: (916) 640-1442 or visit their web site:

Items are available for free trade and include excess products, discards, outdated equipment – anything that is no longer useful to its current owner. This program is ideal for locating free or inexpensive materials or disposing of usable items. For more information, visit www.ciwmb.ca.gov/CalMAX.

Recycling Market Development Zone
As the transportation nexus for northern and central California, the Sacramento Region is the hub of an extensive regional recycling economy. To ensure that local markets are available for these valuable resources, the State of California's Integrated Waste Management Board designated the City of West Sacramento along with the City and County of Sacramento as a "Recycling Market Development Zone (RMDZ)." This Program helps create local jobs, boosts the manufacturing infrastructure and benefits the environment.
