*The deadline for applications for 2009 has passed and no new applications are being accepted*
What is the West Sacramento Community Mini-Grant Program?
A program designed to financially assist non-profit organizations that serve the West Sacramento community.
Who can apply?
Any West Sacramento-based non-profit organization that serves the West Sacramento community.
How much can my organization apply for this year?
The City has $68,000 available for distribution to qualified organizations. Your organization can request whatever amount needed, but it is best to specify the amount and purpose of the funding.
What is the selection process?
The Parks & Community Services Commission will appoint sub-committee members to review the applications, along with selected staff members of the Parks & Recreation Department. The sub-committee will make recommendations to the Parks & Community Services Commission, who select the organizations they feel have the greatest need or whose request yields the greatest benefit to the community. Those selections then go before the City Council for approval.
When are Community Mini-Grant applications due?
Applications for 2010 are not yet available online. Applications for the 2009 Mini-Grants were due Friday, September 26, 2008 by 5:00pm. No new applications will be accepted.
When are Community Mini-Grant awards announced?
Once approved by City Council, Parks & Recreation will notify all applicants by mail of the results. This should take place in the spring of 2009.
How do those selected organizations receive their funding?
Those organizations that are awarded the mini-grants must enter into a contract with the city to help ensure that funds will be spent as indicated. Once the contract is received, the City will issue a check for 80% of the amount awarded. The additional 20% will be issued once the organization has demonstrated that they spent the funds as promised.
