The Road Maintenance section is responsible for maintenance of city streets and rural roads. The Street Division also supports the Police and Fire departments in safety-related functions to include street closure and hazardous material clean up.

Some of the road maintenance tasks performed by Public Works are pothole repair, slurry seal, asphalt repairs, street sweeping, winter leaf pick up, trim trees that are covering traffic lights and signs, removal of fallen trees and branches, storm and flood control, street and traffic sign repairs, maintain bus shelters, graffiti removal on city property, and hazmat clean up.

The Road Maintenance section also operates and maintains 8 storm pump stations located throughout the city.
