Driverless Shuttle Makes Rounds at Raley Field

The City recently tested out a self-driving mini-bus at Raley Field. The electric vehicle can transport up to 12 passengers. It uses lasers and cameras to follow a set route without the need for a driver. The rig is one of many options under consideration as a Riverfront Shuttle.

The Tower Bridge Bike Share program is under way in West Sacramento and Sacramento providing a convenient and economical way for commuting, running errands, visiting friends or just for fun! 50 bikes are currently available in West Sacramento. A full regional system of 900 bikes is expected in the Fall of 2017.

West Sacramento Cyclocross Grand Prix Designated as Official International Bike Race

The West Sacramento Cyclocross Grand Prix will hold its fourth annual race on River Walk Park on September 30 and October 1, 2017. The race has risen to one of the top cyclocross races and has been honored with two official designations: the newest U.S. international bike race with a Union Cycliste Internationale designation and as a USA Cycling Pro Cyclocross race.

Shell Sells Riverside Tank Facility to Port of West Sacramento

The Port of West Sacramento and Equilon Enterprises D/B/A Shell Oil Products US have reached an agreement on the disposition of Shell's petroleum tank farm facility in Pioneer Bluff. The deal outlines a creative public-private transaction which will allow Shell to phase out operations at the facility within the next 4 years, by March, 2021.
