I Street Bridge Lantern Festival
- Date: 03/23/2019 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
- Location: West Sacramento Parking Lot (at the base of the I Street Bridge)
201 C Street
West Sacramento, California
The I Street Bridge Lantern Festival will kick off community engagement for the I Street Bridge Deck Conversion Feasibility Study. The Cities of West Sacramento and Sacramento received a Caltrans Sustainable Communities Grant to study how to transform the upper deck of the bridge to serve only pedestrians and bicyclists. Motorized vehicles would be moved from the existing bridge to the new I Street Bridge.
RSVP online at istreetlanternfest.eventbrite.com (RSVP’s are requested, but not required)
The festival will begin with a brief welcome and introduction, and then lead into a 0.8 mile lantern walk with live music and entertainment. Along the walk route, community members will have an opportunity to learn about the study, provide input on interactive boards, and celebrate the region's cultural heritage.
Arrive early to create a one-of-a-kind LED lantern from 6-7pm to carry as you walk across the bridge!
