Let’s Have Brunch and Talk About Death

“Let’s Have Brunch and Talk About Death,” the internationally acclaimed movement that encourages end-of-life planning to ensure that we die with dignity and in the way that we choose, is coming to West Sacramento.

The event will be held Friday, September 6th, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the West Sacramento Community Center, 1075 W. Capitol Ave. Brunch will be served. RSVPs are required to participate in the event, and seating is limited. To participate, please RSVP by Friday, Aug. 30 to Yolo Hospice, 530-601-5778; or via email

Research has shown that 75 percent of Americans want to die at home, yet only 25 percent of them do so. A conversation among loved ones, friends and even strangers can help change those numbers — and help ensure death with dignity. “Let’s Have Brunch and Talk About Death” grew out of a course offered at the University of Washington in 2013 and became a movement. It has since come to include a video, which will be shown at the event, as well as a TED Talk.
