Call For Art - Arts in the Heart: Arts & Diversity Exhibition

Gallery 1075 invites 2D artists to the first ever “Arts In The Heart: A Celebration of the Arts and Diversity in West Sacramento.” 
The exhibition will be a part of a larger celebration in the West Sacramento Community Center. Gallery 1075 is now accepting submissions until Friday August 31st.

Artwork submissions may be of a celebratory nature or social justice and reflect a multicultural perspective and focus. Artwork will be accepted based on its relation to critical multiculturalism and room within the gallery. All Sacramento area artists are welcome, however ties to the West Sacramento community will be given preference. 
Original works, digital and traditional mediums, are all welcome. 
There are no fees associated with this exhibition.
Gallery 1075 does not sell any artwork. All sales are the responsibility of the artists after the exhibition closes.

How to apply?
Email: ciarac@cityofwestsacramento.org with the subject: Arts In the Heart Submission. Please attach images, and list your name, work title, age (if under 18), medium, and dimensions (and frame dimensions) of each work in body of the email. Please tell us a little about the work and your ties to West Sacramento.
Deadline midnight of August 31st. 
Multiple submissions welcome, artwork will be accepted based on its relation to critical multiculturalism and room within the gallery.

Art Drop Off: September 19th – 26th 
Exhibition: 10/9 – 10/31
Reception: Saturday Oct 13th Time: TBD
Art Pick-up: Nov 2nd, 5th, 6th, and 7th

For additional guidelines or considerations please see below:

a) 2 dimensional work only
b) Max size 36 in x 48 in
c) All work must be wired in the back
d) Paper works must be framed and under glass, over 28 in x 36 in must use Plexiglass
e) All accepted artists will be responsible to sign and return an exhibition contract and release of liability provided by the West Sacramento Community Center prior to display. The utmost care will be used in accepting, storage, and display of all received artworks.

At this time Gallery 1075 has the ability to show 2D artwork only. All mediums in 2D format are welcome. Artwork weighing up to maximum of 75 pounds, with a max size of 36 in x 48 in, will be hung on gallery picture rails. There will be no hanging of artwork directly on walls. 
Your artwork will need to have the ability to be hung from the back by a horizontal hanging wire. Artist is responsible for providing artwork with appropriate hanging wire. For example, artwork can be framed with a braided wire on the back or a gallery canvas with a braided wire attached to the back. On the back of the frames, a wire will need to be mounted. Ideally, the wire needs to be 1/3 down from the top of the frame and been strung as tight as possible. 
Unstable, extremely fragile, broken, mended, or chipped work will not be displayed in gallery.
