What We Do

West Sacramento Parks & Recreation consists of four separate functions: a Parks Division, Recreation Division, Early Learning Services, and our Tree Program. The Parks Department provides recreation and leisure opportunities with its park facilities and recreation programming. These programs are designed to help local residents improve their overall health and quality of life.

Connect with local services, celebrate Older Americans Month, and discover support for healthy, active living.

Join us for the Senior Resource Fair on Friday, May 8, 2026, from 10:00 AM–12:30 PM at the West Sacramento Community Center (1075 West Capitol Ave).
Hosted in celebration of Older Americans Month, this event brings together essential information, services, and support for older adults in our community.

What to Expect

  • Senior Support Services: Access information and guidance on a variety of senior-focused programs and services available locally.
  • Health & Wellness: Explore wellness workshops, health screenings, and resources to promote healthy living and active aging.
  • FREE Via Rides: Receive a complimentary Via rideshare to facilitate transportation to and from the event.
  • Older Americans Month Proclamation: Witness the proclamation ceremony, highlighting the contributions and achievements of older Americans in our community.
  • Light Snacks: Enjoy complimentary refreshments
  • Free Shredding! Each participant can bring up to 10 lbs of paper documents to be securely shredded, courtesy of the City of West Sacramento Sustainability Division.

Transportation & Parking

Limited street parking is available on West Capitol Ave.
Visitors may use the City Hall and Community Center parking lots.

Community Center Parking Directions:
Turn onto Merkley Ave and enter the parking lot at the Arthur F. Turner Yolo County Library. Continue through to reach the Community Center lot on the right.
Building Entry:
The West Capitol/Merkley entrance will be locked — please enter from the south side of the building near the Community Center parking lot.
