Participants Needed for Rideshare Study
The City of West Sacramento, in cooperation with AARP, is conducting a study to learn how to better serve Via Rideshare and JUMP Bike users 55 and older. As part of the study, the City is offering a limited number of residents the opportunity to try those services for free during August and September.
How it Works
- You must be at least 55 years of age as of August 1, 2018 and fill out the online application.
- Participants will be randomly selected from those who apply. Those selected will receive credit for free rides on the Via and/or JUMP Bike systems.
- All participants will be asked to complete a brief survey before and after participating but there is no other obligation. The City will use this information to help assure that the Via rideshare and JUMP Bike programs meet the needs of older West Sacramento residents.
- If you have questions about this project, please contact Jon Robinson at (916) 617-4500.
This project was made possible for the community due to the generous support from AARP. As part of its commitment to becoming more age-friendly, the City of West Sacramento is taking extra steps to assure that older residents can fully participate in community activities and enjoy all of the amenities that the City offers.
This project is designed to help the City better understand the extent to which price, lack of a cell phone, or other factors might affect older residents’ use of rideshare. The City will use what it learns from this effort to improve the systems so they are even more useful for seniors.
