2018 West Sac Cyclocross Grand Prix Dates Set for Oct 6-7

The popular West Sacramento Cyclocross Grand Prix (WSCXGP) is back this fall with pro and amateur races scheduled Saturday and Sunday, October 6th and 7th on the hilly and beautiful course along the Sacramento River. Cyclists of all levels race along the Sacramento River bounded by the Tower Bridge and I Street Bridge in the City’s beautiful River Walk Park. There will be food, beer, live music, vendors and a kids zone. This free event is fantastic for spectators. Registration opens September 5 at noon.

Race organizers are pleased to announce that Kaiser Permanente has been named as the presenting sponsor this year!

Race within a Race

New this year is the GNAR!5K (Go Nuts Along the River) urban trail foot race where participants will run on the actual Cyclocross course at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 6th! The north end of the GNAR!5K crosses into Yolo County Park where the famous #westsacgoats will be grazing during the race.  Sign up to run with the goats here. The 5K is organized by the Sloppy Moose Running Club which is known for its popular and fun Beer Week 5K as well as weekly Wednesday night runs.  

Volunteers Needed 

Community members are invited to join the fun by volunteering on race weekend. Volunteers get a front row seat to the action and receive food and drink for helping out. Signups for various roles from set up to take down to course monitors are available here.
