Art Needed for New Gallery at Gibson House

Post Date:03/12/2019 11:45 AM

This year marks a new chapter for YoloArts: the opening of a new gallery at the Gibson House property. To celebrate the inauguration of The Barn Gallery, YoloArts welcomes artwork for the first group show to be held at this new space.

The exhibit theme – Surroundings – is an opportunity to find a “different way of looking” and expressing the surroundings in Yolo County.

  • Artists are encouraged to explore unique interpretations of the landscape, urbanscape, or mindscape elicited by your experience of Yolo.
  • What is the essence of the surrounding that captures your imagination. Is there something significant – something in the atmosphere or energetically- about how it feels being in the Yolo area?
  • What is it about the surroundings that sustain you, move you, concern you – or touch your heart and spirit?
  • How do you express the impact and influence of the people, the history, and the culture?

Art submissions are welcome from emerging and established artists (age 18+) in Yolo, Sacramento and Solano County. A range of media including 2D, 3D, installation and digital art is acceptable.
