River Crossing: I Want to Communicate with You Project
River Crossing: I want to communicate with you is the opportunity to nominate someone to be commemorated by having the public dock in Sacramento or West Sacramento named after them.
The public docks face each other across the Sacramento River between the Tower Bridge and I-Street Bridge. These docks have played a vital role in the history of Yolo and Sacramento Counties. For many years they were points of entry, where people and goods arrived.
An installation of light boxes will celebrate the new names by spelling them out in maritime signals.
Nominations must reach us no later than July 10, 2019.
To nominate someone, write up to 250 words telling us the name of the person you have chosen, what makes them special to you, or how they have had a positive impact on your life. The person you nominate could be anybody: your beloved grandma, your best friend, or a teacher. It could even be you!
