Local Students' Artwork Featured in 2020 Clean Air Calendar
Two hundred and sixty-four students – the most ever – from throughout the Yolo-Solano Air Quality Management District submitted original artwork for the 2020 Clean Air Calendar Contest to share why they care about clean air.
Using colored pencils, pens, crayons and paints, students were encouraged to use their talent and imagination to spread awareness about air pollution and inspire others to help protect one of our most valuable resources – clean air.
Twelve pieces of art were selected in a two-part voting process by staff and the District’s Board of Directors. Artwork will be used to illustrate the District’s 2020 calendar which is given out free to the public at community events throughout the year. Two 3rd grade students were chosen from Our Lady of Grace School in West Sacramento and will receive a $30 Amazon gift card, a Certificate of Achievement and copies of the 2020 calendar:
Naomi Lemos, 3rd grade from Our Lady of Grace in West Sacramento
Samantha Taylor, 3rd grade from Our Lady of Grace in West Sacramento
