Barge Canal Trail Taking Shape
Construction on the new bike-pedestrian trail along the Barge Canal is well under way. It’s part of the first phase of the Central Concept Plan and an implementation of the Pioneer Bluff and Stone Lock Reuse Master Plan. The paved trail is 16 feet wide and traverses along the south side of the Barge Canal from Jefferson Blvd. to Lake Washington Blvd.
The trail will be ADA compliant and features lighting and two seating areas where visitors can rest along the route. Concrete and electrical work is ongoing. The trail should be complete by the end of September.
