Participate in the 2020 Census
Every 10 years, the federal government conducts a Census to count all residents in the United States. The Census is important because it impacts us locally, affecting everything from federal funding to congressional representation and even school boundaries.
Everyone matters and everyone counts. In 2010, 77% of Yolo County residents participated. Though this is a good number, it also means that about 1 out of 4 people were not counted, which means less money coming into our county and less representation in our government.
Let's make sure West Sacramento is counted! The U.S. Census Bureau will mail a notice to complete the 2020 Census starting in March of 2020. Once you receive the notice, you can complete the survey however is most convenient for you, including online, by mail, or by phone. It will take about 10 minutes per person to complete.
It may seem like a small task, but completing and returning your Census survey can make a big difference for our community. For more information, please visit www.yolocounty.org/2020census or call 916-852-2020.
