Light Rail Connector Project
Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) has formally submitted a request to the Federal Transit Administration (FTA) to enter the West Sacramento Light Rail Connector Project into the FTA's Small Starts Project Development program. This request represents a significant step in renewing the vision of a public transit corridor from Sacramento to West Sacramento along the Tower Bridge Gateway.
The Connector Project is a 1.51 mile public transit project connecting SacRT's light rail system from Sacramento Valley Station to Sutter Health Park in West Sacramento. The project and the reallocation of the Downtown Riverfront Streetcar Project's previously awarded funding is strongly supported by Congresswoman Matsui, whose staff has worked closely with Sacramento and West Sacramento representatives, SACOG, and SacRT to ensure continued local cooperation on the Connector Project as a successor to the Streetcar.
