Help Keep Streets Clear of Leaves This Fall

Fall is here, and with it comes leaf drop season! As leaves begin to fill our yards and streets, the City’s Public Works Department is asking residents to help prevent clogged drain storms by bagging up their extra fallen leaves and placing them next to their full organics cart.

Here’s how you can help:

  • Use your Organics Cart: Place leaves directly in your organics cart for collection.
  • Have extra leaves? From November 1 to January 31, you may set out additional leaves in paper or ASTM D6400-rated compostable bags (each under 50 lbs) next to your full organics cart on your collection day.
  • Need more space? Request up to four extra yard waste carts from Waste Management (WM) at no additional cost. Contact WM at 866-844-1508.
  • Please don’t leave piles of leaves in the street. They create safety hazards and won’t be collected.
