Washington Neighborhood - Area "B" Residential Parking
The Washington Neighborhood "Area B" residential parking permits and visitor placards are expiring September 30, 2018. With the deadline approaching, all permit holders should renew their permits at this time.
The City will be issuing new permits that will be valid for the period of September 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019. Residents who fail to renew by the deadline will be subject to parking citations beginning October 1, 2018. With the new online option in place, you can renew parking permits from the City’s website www.cityofwestsacramento.org/government/departments/administrative-services/parking
The new permits utilize “pay by plate” technology rather than posting a sticker or hang tag on your vehicle. Simply enter your vehicles license plate number when purchasing a new permit online. Those purchasing visitor placards will still need to do so at the City Hall Utility Billing Counter, 1110 West Capitol Avenue, first floor. The visitor permits are issued by address are not transferrable and improper use can result in revocation by the City.
The Washington Neighborhood Area “B” permits and visitor placards can be obtained at the 1st floor Utility Billing counter located at West Sacramento City Hall, 1110 West Capitol Ave. Monday – Friday, from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Permit Prices for 2018-19
Resident Permit: $5.00 each (new applicant or renewals)
Visitor Placards: $5.00 each (limit two per household)
Permit Application Process
When purchasing permits online, once you complete payment, an additional step is required to complete the application process and activate your permit. You will be required to email the following to the City:
- Proof of residency in the form of a utility bill, or tenant lease or rental agreement
- Email address

Bridge District Resident Parking
On July 1, 2017, the City commenced the new Bridge District parking program using “pay by plate” technology for on street and off street public parking. The City’s vendor, Parkmobile, has created an on online payment system for Bridge District residents. Monthly parking permits can be purchased online for the 5th and Bridge parking lot (all residents), and Monthly Parking Zone (45 Habitat residents only). Register and purchase a monthly permit online.
Important Note: Your registration cannot be completed without providing the City of West Sacramento with your proof of residency. Proof of residency can be a copy of your lease or sublease, valid driver’s license, vehicle registration, or utility bill. You must email proof of residency to the following email address: email@example.com, or residents can also purchase permits at the City Hall public counter, located at 1110 West Capitol Avenue, where a computer terminal has been installed for this purpose.
Bridge District Visitor Passes
The daily visitor passes are now available to 5th and Bridge monthly parking permit holders for $5.00. You can purchase a permit by logging into your account, and following the directions shown [click here]. As with the monthly permits they system is “pay by plate”, and you will need to have the license plate number of your visitor. Also note that there will be a limit of four (4) visitor passes per month per permit holder. You can purchase a permit for up to 31 days in the future. Parking Meters Are Operational in the Bridge District
On street parking is now managed by Parking meters have been installed in the Bridge District and have been operational since July 1st. Look for the Parkmobile (2+ Zone) signage to determine what areas are subject to payment. On street parking uses “pay by plate” technology, and customers will either use one of nine parking kiosks or the Parkmobile smart phone application which you can download from the link below. Payment requires that you enter your vehicle’s license plate number prior to payment. There are no stickers to place in your dashboard, since parking enforcement simply scans your vehicles license plate. You can extend time from any of the parking kiosks, at any time, but by using the Parkmobile app, you can pay to extend time from any location using your phone. To pay in person, or to mail your payment, payments can be made at the Business Counter at West Sacramento City Hall, 1110 West Capitol Avenue, West Sacramento, CA 95691. Note that payments must be received or contested no later than 21 calendar days from the citation issue date to avoid additional penalties. Instructions on how to contest or pay are also on the reverse side of the issued citation.
