What does the Capital Projects and Transportation Department Do?

The Capital Projects and Transportation Department is comprised of the following:

Construction Management and Facilities Development Division: Responsible for overseeing the planning, design, project and construction management of city owned facilities. The division also provides project management, construction administration and inspection support for city projects across various departments.

Engineering Division: Responsible for design of roads, bridges, bicycle and pedestrian facilities, water and sewer infrastructure, traffic operations, signals and streetlights. It is also responsible for the preparation of maps, plans, surveys and Geographic Information System data to document the City’s utilities, built improvements, and natural features.

Transportation and Mobility Division: Responsible for transportation planning, transit and mobility coordination, safe routes to school, and administration of the transportation permitting program, grant acquisition and administration, and related activities.
