Background:
The City of West Sacramento adopted the General Plan 2035 update that guides the City's growth through 2035. A goal of the General Plan 2035 process was to ensure that the City's Utilities has the ability to serve existing and projected future customers. In conjunction with the General Plan, the 2015 Sanitary Sewer Master Plan Update and the 2015 Water System Master Plan Update were prepared to evaluate both the condition and capacity of the City's existing utility systems. However, updates to the sewer and water master plans are in process and the city anticipates those documents being adopted in January 2025. This project was determined by maintenance records showing the area had significant defects in its system and the age of the assets.
Scope:
The objective of the Westmore Oaks Sewer and Water Rehabilitation Project is to correct some of the infrastructure deficiencies identified in their respective master plans.
Project Benefits:
The Project is consistent with the City of West Sacramento’s vision: “Sustain a financially sound city in which everyone feels safe and secure with quality services and well-maintained infrastructure” (Core Services and Infrastructure). The Project will construct improvements along Jefferson Blvd between Stone Blvd and Park Blvd in addition to within the neighborhood bounded on the west by Deerwood St and Clarendon St, Highway 50 to the north and Park Blvd to the east. Upon completion residents will have safer and more reliable sewer/water services.
