The Fair Political Practices Commission requires the filing of Campaign Contribution Statements (Form 460) by all organized political committees. The California Secretary of State issues ID numbers to committees and forwards their filed Statement of Organization (Form 410) to the City, thus informing the City of an organized committee within our jurisdiction. These committees include, but are not limited to, current City Council members, candidates for City Council, ballot measure committees and political action committees. A committee is formed after either the contributions received or spending reaches a $2,000 threshold. Statements are generally filed semi-annually. Statements covering July 1 through December 31 are due on January 31. Statements covering January 1 through June 30 are due on July 31. Even numbered years, which are election years, require the filing of additional statements described below.
