Did you know home energy use is a major source of greenhouse gas pollution? The good news is that you can make changes now to help reduce your impact. While some steps do require large financial investments, there are many that carry little to no cost. That's where the City of West Sacramento steps in! We are now piloting a free Home Energy Audit.
This program is available to all West Sacramento residents, regardless of income. Participants must be the property owner (if you are not the property owner, please have them complete the application). During the audit, staff will assess your home and provide tailored recommendations. Based on the recommendations, residents may receive:
- LED Lightbulbs
- Smart Power Strips
- Showerheads
- Faucet Aerators
- Toilet Leak Detection Kits
- Weatherization Tape
- And more!
Our goal is to empower residents through education and practical tools that make saving energy simple and accessible.
To boost participation in this program, those who have completed an audit may refer a friend or family member and get one $25 gift card.
In addition, the first 25 residents to sign-up for a Home Energy Audit will receive a free smart thermostat (installation not included).
