Recreation Fee Assistance – At a Glance
What it is
Recreation Fee Assistance helps West Sacramento residents reduce the cost of eligible Parks & Recreation programs so more people can participate year-round.
Who it's for
- Children, adults, and seniors
- West Sacramento residents who demonstrate financial need
How it works
- Approved individuals receive an annual Fee Assistance award Assistance can be used across multiple eligible programs as registration opens
- Participants pay 50% of the program cost; Fee Assistance covers the remaining 50%
- Funds remain available until used or until the end of the calendar year
How much assistance is available
- Up to $150 per person per year
- Up to $600 per household per year
- Funds are limited and awarded on a first-come, first-served basis
Important to know
- Apply several weeks before program registration
- Approval does not guarantee placement in a program
- Registration is a separate step and is the responsibility of the head of household

2026 Recreation Fee Assistance Application
We are currently accepting applications in person only.
Please:
• Download and complete the application
• Bring your eligibility and residency documents to:
Community Center (1075 West Capitol Ave) or
Recreation Center (2801 Jefferson Blvd)
• Staff will verify your documents (no copies retained)
Applications are reviewed within 5–10 business days.
Support the Program
The Recreation Fee Assistance Program is supported through fundraising and community donations.
Tax-deductible contributions to the West Sacramento Foundation Recreation Fund are accepted year-round and help expand access to recreation programs for children, adults, and seniors.
Donations can be made online. Your support helps keep recreation accessible for our community.
