Summer Night Lights LogoThe Police Department has hosted Summer Night Lights for two consecutive summers in partnership with Collings Teen Center, Yolo County Children's Alliance and the Washington Unified School District. The event generally runs on weekends throughout the summer, with daily themes. Last year's themes included Fireworks safety and Yolo Farm to Fork; Kings Mini Camp, Rivercats, Sac Republic and an offsite trip to a Rivercats game to culminate the year. The program provides the Police Department the opportunity to host a regular community event to get children, teens and their families to gather together to play games, enjoy a FREE BBQ and socialize with neighbors, police officers and community stakeholders in a positive environment. As part of the program, kids are given the opportunity to participate in team sports such as soccer, basketball and baseball as well as activities like face painting, arts and crafts and a bounce house.

Updates on 2018 Summer Night Lights events will be posted here when they are available. 9
