The West Sacramento Police Department makes a focused effort to engage in youth outreach. These outreach efforts are done with the intent of fostering relationships and positive contact with the police both early and often.  All programs are offered to West Sacramento youth free of charge, so there are no obstacles to participation.


Youth Outreach-1Sacramento Kings Mini Camp

Kings Rookie Malachi Richardson joined Kings staff and WSPD officers to lead an engaging mini clinic.




Youth Outreach-3WSPD Spring Break Boxing Camp

 Spring break boxing camp provided an opportunity for local youth to engage in four days of boxing instruction and fun while building bonds with WSPD officers. The camp was capped off with a K-9 demonstration and a visit from UFC Champion Urijah Faber!




WSPD & Invictus Football Clinic 

 Local youth were treated to a professional clinic learning both football and life skills in partnership with Invictus Foundation.





Youth Academy 

The first Youth Academy provided an opportunity for 16 high school students to gain insight into the law enforcement profession. There were overviews from each division within the department as well as visits from the Yolo County District Attorney's office and Yolo Dispatch.IMG_0677
