Park Project Updates
Washington Park
Estimated Completion: Early 2026
Located at 6th & E St, this neighborhood park is associated with the Four40 West Housing development. A groundbreaking event for the park was held in July 2025
Arlington Oak Neighborhood Park
Estimated Completion: TBD (dependent on grant award)
The City is applying for Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) grant funding to purchase nearly 32 acres from the Port of West Sacramento to expand this neighborhood park along the Barge Canal. Community engagement in June 2025 gathered feedback on desired recreation elements and theming. Acquisition will occur only if the grant is awarded.
Bryte Park Master Plan Implementation
Estimated Completion: TBD (construction dependent on grant agreement)
Bryte Park design is expected to be complete by spring 2025 and will include a new aquatics facility. The City was awarded $15 million in grant funding from the National Park Service’s Outdoor Recreation Legacy Partnership (ORLP). Construction cannot begin until the grant agreement is signed, likely in late 2025.
Heritage Oaks Park Master Plan Project
Estimated Completion: July 2026
Project construction is expected to start in August 2025.
Southport Levee Recreation Trail
Estimated Completion: Summer 2025
At 95% design, the trail will provide 5.6 miles of Class 1 bike trail along the crown of the Southport Setback Levee. Construction is funded primarily by Prop 68 grants and Community Project Funding.
Westacre Park
Estimated Completion: Spring 2026
Design and construction are fully funded by $7,843,000 of Prop 68 SPP funding. Planned improvements include a skate park, pump track, playfields, inclusive playground, splash pad, restroom, walking loops, pickleball and futsal courts, reflexology and meditation paths, and public art. Construction began March 2025 and is approximately 40% complete.
Alyce Norman Park Master Plan
Estimated Completion: TBD
This project welcomes community input during upcoming public meetings.
