Drop off your expired and unwanted medications at the Jefferson Pharmacy, 1029 Jefferson Blvd, Suite A, 10AM to 5PM, Monday through Friday, or the Yolo County Central Landfill, 44090 Country Road 28H, Woodland, CA 95776 every Friday and Saturday between 7:30a.m. and 3:30p.m. What Can Be Collected: Controlled and non-controlled Prescription and over-the-counter drugs, pet medications, and medicated liquids and ointments. Yolo County Central Landfill also accepts paint as part of their FREE Household Hazardous Waste collection Program every Friday and Saturday 7:30am to 3:30pm.
Sharps include hypodermic needles, pen needles, intravenous needles, lancets, and devices used to penetrate the skin for the delivery of medications. Sharps are banned from landfill disposal. Residents may use the Waste Management, Inc At Your Door Special Collection Service to schedule a pick up appointment for sharps (Please note residents are limited to 2 At Your Door appointments per contract year). Call (800) 449-7587 to schedule an At Your Door appointment.
Seniors and disabled residents who are unable to drive are eligible for a FREE HHW pickup appointment through Yolo County. Call (916) 617-4656 to schedule an appointment.
Containerized Sharps may be dropped off at the Yolo County Central landfill, every Friday and Saturday from 7:30am to 3:30pm, as part of their FREE Household Hazardous Waste Collection Program. Sharps must be contained in a sealed puncture proof container clearly labeled as "sharps".
*Due to a lack of funding, sharps container are no longer available for distribution at the City of West Sacramento.
Electronics or 'E-waste' includes but is not limited to&nbs cell phones, computers, computer monitors, TVs and devices with circuit boards. E-waste does not include most appliances. E-waste contains valuable components which should be recycled at the end of their useful life. Some components of e-waste are hazardous. West Sacramento residents now have several options for recycling e-waste. Residents can schedule an e-waste collection appointment through Waste Management as part of a bulky waste pick up appointment by calling (866) 844-1508 or through Waste Management's "At Your Door Special Collection" appoint service by calling (800) 449-7587. Please note residents are limited to 2 bulky waste and 2 Special Collection appointments per year. Limitation do apply. Additionally, the Yolo County Central Landfill, located at 44090 County Road 28H, Woodland, 95776, accepts E-waste for FREE recycling Daily.
